Ice storm

We have recently been the (for lack of a better word) victims of an ice storm that has pretty much devastated the area. The day of the storm when people could actually see how horrible the weather is we worked 37 calls. That is not a lot for some areas, but in the off season of a tourism town it is significant. The following day the call load was 64 for the fact of people not preparing for the weather and trying to get out of there homes, plus with power outages we were extremely busy. We have only 3 ambulances that are 4 wheel drive fords with stud tires that are even able go places covered with ice and snow. I give you all this background to say this:
I just wanted to say that we have some of the best crews working here. It was really great to have a horrifically busy day but know that the crews on the ambulance are on board with the dispatchers to get everything done. My partner and I did not stop. We were either talking on the radio, taking a 911 calls or answering the phone and the crews were wonderful!
There were also staff on duty taking SUVs and picking up dialysis patients to take to the hospital, first responding on calls, and helping the ambulances in the really hard places to get to for the patients. So, sometimes everything just clicks and everyone is on board to get the job done and this was one of those times. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that helped out!!!
